| Aside from natural indications, KALMAG is particularly useful in reintegrating Potassium, Magnesium and Sodium ions lost after vomiting and diarrhea of any source or pathology. It also combats thirst caused by the increase in diuresis after an excess of alcohol.
Taken on a full stomach, it performs its nutritional, rehydrating and ionic reintegrating action in about a half hour. The dose of Potassium is 200 mg.(half the daily requirement). 60% is biologically available immediately while 40% becomes available in the stomach acids. The Magnesium, 150 mg. per dose, is equal to 50% of the average daily adult requirement and 40% is immediately available. It acts on the permeability of the blood vessels, with a consequently improved cerebral and peripheral supply. Also in this case, the remaining 60% of Magnesium passes into the ionic state in an acid environment. The introduction of Sodium is indispensable for the optimal electrolytic re-balancing of the Potassium. Saline integrators lacking sodium do not activate the "Sodium-Potassium pump". This means that only 15% of the Potassium present is absorbed, while 85% remains unused. All the Sodium present in KALMAG, 100 mg., is immediately available in ionic form. |
